Ubi Bank: 900 planned redundancies

Nearly 900 redundancies across Italy, many of which may be of interest just the Varese area. It is still far from the union negotiations, being held in Bergamo, the cuts in staff (895 employees) declared by the UBI Banca Group a, which also involves the Banca Popolare di Bergamo, present with more than 120 branches in the province of Varese. This past after major mergers under the same name has joined the Bank Commerce and Industry, European Region and Banco di Brescia . In our province, the group has a total of more than 1300 workers and their concern for the outcome of negotiations is therefore high.
"After days of intense discussion between the parties - explains Fabi (Autonomous Federation Italian bank) of Varese - are significant distances between the positions of trade unions, seeking equitable measures to support all staff in the face of great sacrifices planned to hold the business difficulties of the moment, and totally inadequate availability of the Group. The trade unions claim that the group engages much in the stabilization of the many temporary workers, to motivate current employees against the greater effort required and ensuring decent conditions for workers made redundant as an accompaniment to the board. Furthermore, it is totally unacceptable to the current attempt by the group, the dismantling of the important guarantees of the national contract and contract business banking group. "
Tomorrow is scheduled resumption of the meeting between the parties towards an agreement at the time still seems far away but, without which, you can not engaging in any restructuring of the banking group.
